The Production Manager is responsible for the performance and environment of the production operation. More specifically, the Production Manager provides the leadership and management to ensure that the employees are working in a safe, productive, and engaged environment utilizing highly effective processes to meet customer and company needs. 

The Production Manager’s Role:

  • Manage the manufacturing operation including fabrication, assembly, shipping, receiving, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Materials Manager to meet goals and expectations
  • Participate in the development and execution of company strategies.
  • Be an integral part of the leadership team, a strong team member, and role model
  • Create an environment of value, trust, and respect
  • Lead the effort to make Grip-Tite the recognized standard in manufacturing excellence

The Production Manager’s Responsibilities:

  • Ensure every team member adheres to company policies and the employee handbook
  • Ensure every team member meets or exceeds the expectations of the employee performance review
  • See that all local, state, and federal compliance needs are met
  • Make sure that all team members are qualified and trained to do their job
  • Create a high level of productivity where each team member is contributing fully

Required Experience, skills, and attributes:

  • A minimum of five years of direct, shop floor manufacturing supervision
  • A minimum of five years of operations management of at least 25 direct and indirect reports
  • Extensive experience with lean manufacturing principles and tools with a minimum of five years of hands-on implementation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good computer skills, including ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent people skills
